Najm Sheikh: A Journey Of Passion And Multi-Sport Success

As I, Najm Sheikh, stood on the podium, gold medal in hand, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far I’ve come. My journey as a multi-sport athlete started when I was just five years old, competing at the district level. Back then, I had no idea that those first steps would lead me to this incredible adventure.

At five, I, Najm Sheikh, was already making waves as a state-level swimmer. The thrill of competition fueled my passion, and before I knew it, I was stepping onto the district championship stage for self-defense at Islamia College. Winning my first gold medal there was a moment I’ll never forget it was the spark that set everything in motion.

As the years passed, my love for sports only deepened. I, Najm Sheikh, didn’t just stick to one game; I explored a world of athletics, diving into badminton, martial arts, sqay, squash, softball, kudo, bagatur, kalaripayattu, and many more. Each sport shaped me, teaching me discipline, resilience, and the power of teamwork.

When I, Najm Sheikh, joined Presentation Convent in class 6, I had one goal—to leave my mark. Three years of relentless effort paid off when I was named Sports Captain of Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School. But the real highlight? Being honored as the Best Athlete in 2024.

Every competition fueled my hunger to achieve more. I, Najm Sheikh, have fought my way through 22 district championships, collecting 27 gold medals along the way. At the state level, I’ve competed in over 20 championships and clinched 26 gold medals in multiple sports. The national stage brought even bigger challenges, but I pushed through, earning 14 gold and silver medals across different disciplines.

One of my proudest moments was competing in the National Championship for squash. Though I, Najm Sheikh, walked away with a participation certificate, the experience was invaluable I battled through eight rounds, proving to myself that I belonged among the best.

Stepping onto the international stage was a dream come true. Representing my country and winning five international gold medals in sqay martial arts is a feeling beyond words. Seeing my name, Najm Sheikh, twice in the International Book of Records once for securing 60 medals by the age of 16 and again for organizing a Multi-Sport and Art event with the highest number of participants was surreal

At just 12 years old, I, Najm Sheikh, took on a new challenge: becoming the youngest referee for sqay martial arts, a position I held for three years. Officiating matches gave me a whole new perspective on the game and reinforced my belief in fair play and leadership

Over the years, the recognition I’ve received has been humbling. From state-level honors to international accolades, each award has been a reminder of the hard work and sacrifices behind every victory. Last year, I, Najm Sheikh, was honored with an international award in Amritsar, followed by another this year. More recently, I was recognized by the Indian Talented Awards in Mumbai, Maharashtra. But the real icing on the cake? Winning double gold medals at the South Asian Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal

Now, with nearly 75 medals to my name, my next goal is crystal clear—I, Najm Sheikh, am aiming for 100 medals this year. The journey hasn’t been easy, but none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my parents, coaches, and everyone who has believed in me.

To all of you who have been part of my story thank you. Your encouragement, guidance, and faith in me have been my strength, and I, Najm Sheikh, carry your support with me every time I step onto the field. Here’s to the next milestone
