Aqsa Shakeel: J&K’s Pencak Silat Star Aiming for Gold at Nationals



Aqsa Shakeel a Pencak Silat player from Jammu & Kashmir, has been dedicated to the sport for the past seven years, competing at sub-junior, junior, and senior levels. With participation in national district UT federation and all India events she has earned six golds four silvers and four bronze medals


Her journey began in sixth grade when a school teacher introduced her to the sport. A bronze medal at the national level marked the beginning of her achievements. Two years later, she joined a stadium where her coach played a vital role in shaping her skills and strengthening her game


Through all the highs and lows, the constant support of her family and coach has been a driving force


Recently selected for the senior national trials, she will soon represent her state at the Senior National Championship in Lucknow Uttar Pradesh


Currently, she is part of a 21-day training camp, working tirelessly to refine her skills with one clear goal winning gold and making her family and coach proud
